Callie Oppedisano

Born and raised in Utah, Dr. Oppedisano pursued a BFA in Theatre and a BA in English at Niagara University, and later a Master’s in Philosophy in Irish Theater and Film at the Samuel Beckett Center School of Drama at Trinity College in Dublin Ireland, and finally her PhD in Drama from Tufts University.

A devout cradle Catholic, Dr. Oppedisano’s research delved into her cultural experience of growing up in Utah, and her doctoral dissertation examines contemporary Mormon Theatre.  Intending to teach in higher education when she moved back to her home state sixteen years ago, she instead decided to homeschool her five kids.

Her work has been published in many academic journals including Theatre Survey, Theatre Journal, Prologue, BYU Studies, and The Journal of Mormon History.

Dr. Oppedisano is grateful for the opportunity to return to the stage with the next generation of performers—and saints at Chesterton Academy of Northern Utah.
