Michael Wooden has been a performing pianist/organist in the Ogden area for over forty years. He received his degree in Piano Performance/Choral Music from Weber State University and took graduate courses in Choral Music Education from the University of Utah.

He recently retired as Director of Choirs and Bands at Wahlquist Jr. High in the Weber School District after thirty-six years of service. He has been choir director and organist for St James the Just Catholic Church in Ogden for 34 years and for St Joseph Catholic Church for twenty-two years.

He entered the Catholic Church in 1995 and developed a deep love for the liturgy of the church. Michael attended three colloquia sponsored by the Church Musician Association of American at Loyola University in Chicago and the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City. He studied Gregorian Chant and polyphony and sang in a schola for the masses of these colloquia.

He enjoys fly fishing, tennis, pickle ball and jazz piano in his spare time.  He and his wife, Theresa, have five children.
