Mr. Schreuders grew up in San Jose, California, where a Socratic approach to the humanities first sparked his love of philosophy as a teenager. He earned a bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Arizona and is pursuing a Master of Education at the University of San Diego. His intellectual formation has also been shaped by years of study and dialogue surrounding a role developing a podcast exploring Catholic and Orthodox philosophy, theology, and culture.

Before joining Chesterton Academy, Mr. Schreuders taught humanities at Bishop Gorman High School and Stratford Middle School. He is especially passionate about Socratic teaching, questions of epistemology, and the conversation among Being, Beauty and the Christian faith. Among the saints, he has a particular devotion to his patron, St. Anthony the Great of Egypt.

Mr. Schreuders believes intellectual formation cannot be divorced from Christian formation. In the classroom, he hopes to cultivate rigorous thinking, emotional regulation, respectful dialogue, and, above all, a love of truth ordered toward Christ and sainthood.

He and his wife married in 2026 and are excited to settle in Utah. Outside the classroom, he enjoys nature, music, and exploring the connections between history, cities, and infrastructure.
